Assessment criteria. The organisation publishes an accreditation guide as a PDF, linked from the home, about, what is CPD, accreditation process and fees pages under the label "Download accreditation information". Section 4 of that document sets out five matters the assessor evaluates: factual accuracy, coherence, evidence base, professional suitability, and correct use of terminology. Section 3 sets out a submission checklist covering programme content, trainer notes, learning outcomes, intended audience, duration and contact hours, evidence base, terminology and regulatory evidence. The home page states: "Your submission is assessed to ensure it meets recognised standards."
Pricing. The fees page publishes the following: CPD Provider £200, described as "Registration includes one course assessment"; CPD Course Assessment £200; Annual Renewal (no Changes) £100; Annual Renewal (Extensive Changes) £200; Webinar / Masterclass £200; Events £300. The accreditation process page states: "Registration is £200 and includes the assessment of that first course." The accreditation guide PDF states: "Registering as a provider costs £200 and includes the assessment of your first course." The FAQ page at /cpd-faq/ states: "Registration is free." The page metadata of that FAQ page records a modified time of 4 June 2025.
Terms and conditions. We looked for terms governing the accreditation service — covering matters such as duration, renewal, withdrawal, logo use, intellectual property in submitted materials and refunds — on the pages reviewed and in the accreditation guide PDF. No terms and conditions document was found on the pages reviewed, and no link to terms and conditions was present in the footer of any page reviewed.
Privacy policy and complaints policy. We looked for a privacy policy and a complaints policy on the pages reviewed and in the footer of each page. Neither was found on the pages reviewed.
Website status. Both cpdstandardsboard.com and certify.cpdstandardsboard.com were reachable and served over HTTPS on 23 July 2026.
Individual assessment. The accreditation guide PDF states: "Each programme must be submitted individually. We do not offer bulk or portfolio accreditation." The fees page states, in answer to the question "Do I need to accredit each course seperately?": "Yes. Each training course, webinar, event, or podcast is accredited individually." The FAQ page states: "Approved CPD Centres are recognised by The CSB to accredit their own training programmes and courses and issue CPD certificates directly to their learners."
Review and renewal. The accreditation process page states: "Your accreditation is valid for 12 months from the date of approval." The accreditation guide PDF states that each course is renewed individually, at £100 per course per year where no substantial changes have been made, or £200 where substantial changes require reassessment.
Numbering and verification. The accreditation guide PDF states: "Each certificate carries a unique certificate number", and that entering a certificate number confirms the provider name, participant name, number of CPD credits awarded, date of award and expiry date. The page at /verify/ presents a field labelled "Certificate ID". The page at certify.cpdstandardsboard.com/certificate-validation carries the instruction "Enter the providers's credential ID to verify the accreditation". We looked for a published list or directory of accredited providers, courses or activities and did not find one on the pages reviewed.
ICO registration. We looked for an ICO registration number or reference on the pages reviewed and in the accreditation guide PDF, and did not find one.
