Published information

All pages reviewed were reachable and served over HTTPS.

Assessment framework. The organisation publishes an assessment policy setting out its aim, scope, submission assessment process, assessor appointment and training, responsibilities, quality assurance and appeals. On criteria, the policy states that assessment is based on the CPD Research Project launched at Kingston University Business School in 2010, and that assessments are undertaken against criteria "derived from the project and subsequently acquired experience". We looked for the criteria themselves on the assessment policy, What is CPD Accreditation, How the Process Works, Become Accredited and FAQs pages, and did not find them published on the pages reviewed.

Individual assessment. The assessment policy states that submissions are assessed against the agreed criteria using information provided by the provider, that information is cross-referenced, and that sampling is undertaken depending on the type of activity. The FAQs page states that the organisation accredits by item. The FAQs page also states that where repetitive elements are used across multiple courses, those elements are not required to be submitted for each activity.

Review and renewal. The membership terms state a minimum period of 12 months with automatic 12-month extensions, subject to 60 days' written notice, and an annual subscription fee. The Become Accredited and How the Process Works pages state a minimum membership commitment of two years followed by a one-year rolling basis, with the second year billed at renewal 13 months after application. We looked for a statement that accredited content is reviewed or re-assessed on a defined cycle, on the assessment policy, membership terms, How the Process Works, Become Accredited and FAQs pages, and did not find one on the pages reviewed.

Verification. The CPD Directory at directory.cpdstandards.com publishes a browsable list of accredited providers by industry category, together with a keyword search, a provider-name search, a coach search, and a search by provider ID which the directory home page states can be used to check whether a provider is still active. Provider entries display a provider number and list accredited activities by name. The entry for BPI Consultancy Ltd displays "CPD Standards Office Provider Number: 22758" and lists one accredited activity by name. The How the Process Works page states that "The trustmark is unique to your organisation and carries your own membership number". The membership terms at clause 3.7 state that a membership number is assigned on acceptance of registration. The complaints procedure states that members' logos carry a provider number. We looked for a unique accreditation number attached to each individual accredited activity, and for a published expiry or in-date indicator on provider entries, on the directory home page, the Aviation category page and the BPI Consultancy Ltd provider entry, and did not find either on the pages reviewed.

Pricing. The Become Accredited page states that "prices vary depending on the type of certification you select" and the number of learning activities to be accredited, and that payment plan information is available from CPD advisers. The How the Process Works page states that the cost is confirmed by an adviser on a free consultation call, and that a 14-day fast-track assessment is available for an additional fee. Delegate prices are published for the British Certified Trainer Masterclass. We looked for published prices or fee scales for the accreditation service on the Become Accredited, How the Process Works and FAQs pages and did not find them on the pages reviewed.

Terms. Membership terms and conditions specific to the membership and accreditation service are published, covering formation of contract, term and renewal, changes to services, suspension, intellectual property, data protection, confidentiality, cancellation and refunds, price and payment, liability and governing law.

Policies. A privacy and cookie policy is published, stated on the page to be effective and updated as of 10 June 2026. A complaints handling policy is published, setting out the matters the organisation states it can and cannot respond to, an eight-week consideration period, and an escalation route to the Expert Advisory Board.
